Medical school scholarships are an excellent way to fund your medical education because they do not have to be repaid unlike loans. With the increasing cost of obtaining a medical education, scholarships for medical school are a great way to offset the cost. A good strategy is to apply to as many scholarship programs as possible to increase the likelihood of obtaining one. Try to search your local city or school for scholarship opportunities first as they may have a lower number of competing candidates.
If you are currently working, try asking your employer if they have any medical school scholarship programs available. You will be surprised by how many companies offer scholarships for their employees to go back to school. Medical student scholarships with special requirements such as for minorities or women are another great way to find low competition scholarships if you qualify.
